PINE BLUFF, Ark. -- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB)/Economic Research and Development Center and UAPB Business Support Incubator will collaborate with the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce to offer a FREE Arkansas Procurement Opportunities Pre-Conference Training Workshop Wednesday, March 9 from 8:30 am to 11:45 am.

Held at the Business Support Incubator located 615 South Main Street, the pre-conference training will get your company ready for business matchmaking. Doing business with the government, large corporations, and business-to-business has helped many small companies grow and develop. The conference team will teach small businesses how to fulfill eligibility requirements.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Sharon L. Gaber, Ph.D., Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs with the University of Arkansas has been named to the Simmons First National Corporation board of directors.

According to J. Thomas May, chairman and chief executive officer, Gaber became provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Arkansas in 2009.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Now is the time to plan your spending and develop a budget. "Navigating the Financial Journey" will be taught Saturday, March 5, from  9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service located at 500 Idaho Street in Pine Bluff.

For a fee of $15 per person, participants will cover budget development, money management, and consumer protection.

“Participants will learn how to use a budget and spending plan”, said Mary Ann Kizer, Jefferson County Family and Consumer Sciences Agent.

CABS Center is offering FREE Online Seminars for entrepreneurs, small business owners and their employees by arrangement with the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center. You get access to the largest collection of small business courses available online - featuring voice-over narration, PowerPoint presentations, Worksheets and Toolsets.

There are 20 core business classes encompassing more than 3,500 animated slides and 350 tools and resources. Use computers at the CABS Center to complete courses online Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m.at 625 Adams Ave. Or, if you have internet access, access courses from the comfort of your own home.
