Simmons First National Corporation declares $0.21 per share dividend

PINE BLUFF, AR (Simmons) -- Simmons First National Corporation’s (NASDAQ-GS: SFNC) Board of Directors declared a regular $0.21 per share quarterly cash dividend payable January 2, 2014, to shareholders of record December 16, 2013.  This dividend represents a $0.01 per share, or 5.0% increase over the dividend paid for the same period last year.

Simmons First National Corporation is a seven bank financial holding company with community banks in Pine Bluff, Lake Village, Jonesboro, Searcy, Russellville, El Dorado and Hot Springs and conducts banking operations in Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas.

ICVR seeks volunteers for 2014 Income Tax Season

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (ICVR) - Last year, we filed approximately 200 income tax returns, which brought thousands of dollars back into the community.

The Interested Citizens for Voter Registration, Inc. (ICVR) Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Center< extends an opportunity for community service to accounting clubs, businesses, financial institutions, retired persons, churches, civic and social clubs, and athletic teams.

We seek volunteers to help prepare income taxes for the 2014 income tax season; volunteers will be trained and certified by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).  ICVR and our Wealth Building Coalition believe that it is important to help strengthen families and to make them financially stable by building assets.

Baptist Health makes Stubblefield VP, Bowen asst. VP

Little Rock, Ark. (April 24, 2013) -- Baptist Health has named Greg Stubblefield as the new vice president for clinical services with system responsibilities for radiology, laboratory, and continuous improvement objectives for Baptist Health’s emergency departments. Stubblefield was previously vice president and administrator for Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia. He will begin serving in this new role effective    May 1.

Stubblefield joined Baptist Health in 2002 as an administrative resident. Following his residency, he served as assistant vice president and night administrator for Baptist Health.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – A Procurement Opportunities Seminar will be offered by the Economic Research and Development Center (ERDC) of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) April 18 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the UAPB Business Support Incubator and Office Complex located at 615 South Main Street.

This seminar will inform local businesses of area (Pine Bluff, Jefferson County) contractual opportunities with the state and federal government (i.e.  UAPB, Pine Bluff School District, Watson Chapel School District, Pine Bluff Arsenal, Arkansas Department of Correction, Arkansas Highways & Transportation, etc).

UAPB-ERDC to host Procurement training April 11, 18

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Economic Research and Development Center (ERDC) of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), working with local, state, and federal agencies, will host the Pine Bluff and Jefferson County Minority Business Procurement Outreach Workshop and Seminar Thursday, April 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The subsequent Procurement Opportunities Seminar will be held Thursday, April 18, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Both the workshop and the seminar will be held at the UAPB Business Support Incubator and Office Complex located at 615 South Main Street.

The workshop and seminar will serves as a plan of action that will provide knowledge of the procurement process as well as provide pertinent information on state contracting opportunities to businesses located or doing business in Pine Bluff and Jefferson County.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The ICVR Coffee with the Chiefs is scheduled for 9:00 AM to 10 AM Tuesday morning February 19, 2013 at the Breath of Life Church located 1313 South Pine Street in Pine Bluff. Mayor Debe Hollingsworth is scheduled to address members of the clergy and community.
