PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Interested Citizens for Voter Registration, Inc. (ICVR) Respect for Life Campaign continues on in spite of the recent homicide however; we need additional organizations and persons involved to work with the clergy on the "Thou Shall Not Kill" initiative. The Respect for Life Campaign will hold the first in a series of Community Table meetings that focuses on a number of community problems which are negatively impacting the quality of life in the city of Pine Bluff. The first Community Table meeting will address the continuing escalation of black on black homicides in the city. The meeting will be held Tuesday November 29, 2011; 6 PM at the Greater Deliverance Ministry located 2401 South Main Street directly behind Greater Fellowship Ministries in the Watson Convocation Center. <?xml:namespace prefix = o />

“We need citizens at the table to address the destructive issues facing Pine Bluff and determine what do Pine Bluff citizens want to happen. In addition to the clergy we need law enforcement, college students, high school youth, active and retired educators, professionals, elected officials, and announced candidates at the table. The differences of religions, politics and race must be laid aside in order to bring the city back from the thresh hole of destruction. The Community Table is big enough for all with the courage to speak out and or willing to work together with other citizens for safety and progress.” –Rev. Jesse C. Turner, ICVR executive director.  Details: 870-536-7274.
