Community Youth and Adults Invited to Learn about and Discuss Arkansas’ Energy Future

WHAT: The Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County and the Sierra Club are hosting a town hall meeting and educational event about clean energy to educate and empower youth in science and learn about growing career paths in the clean energy economy.  A solar powered popcorn machine will demonstrate how solar energy works, and children will paint their visions of clean energy to be sent to the Governor.  Following the children’s activities, adults will be invited to have a town hall style meeting and panel discussion to provide input on Governor Beebe’s energy plan. This is the fourth and final meeting in a series of meetings held statewide by the Sierra Club and local partners to promote community engagement in the development of the Governor’s energy plan.

WHEN: Thursday, September 20th, 4:00 – 6:30 pm. Children’s activities will take place between 4 and 5:30, and the panel discussion will run from 5:30 – 6:30 PM.
