Pine Bluff teen killed in one-vehicle accident | News
PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KTHV) -- A teen driver was killed in a one vehicle accident Friday night.
Pine Bluff police said 18-year-old Artisha Rainey was killed in the 3600 block of Hazel Street. Officers were dispatched to the crash at 8:25 p.m. and learned that Rainey's 2005 Kia Spectra had been traveling south on Hazel Street when it left the roadway and collided with a tree.
She was pronounced dead just before 9 p.m.
Witnesses reported the vehicle approached them from the rear then passed them at a high rate of speed. Once making the pass the car began to fishtail before leaving the roadway. Evidence at the scene indicates the car left the roadway on the east side before striking the tree.
The Traffic Division is still investigating the collision.
