PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KTHV) - A Jefferson County man died on Saturday after being struck by a truck off the 3900 block of Mallard Drive during a domestic disturbance.

The man, identified as Jimmy Edwards, 39, of Jefferson County had been involved in an on-going dispute that originated in Star City, Ark. Edwards was hit by a truck driven by Will Dodson of Mississippi, who is believed to be the boyfriend of Edwards' sister.

Witness accounts of the disturbance stated that Edwards was initially struck by Dodson after coming to the aid of his sister. Dodson then proceeded to leave in his truck, but while doing so fatally struck Edwards. Dodson drove away from the scene in a Dodge Dually pickup truck.

At 2:30 p.m., Major Layfayette Woods with the Jefferson County Sheriff's office announced that Dodson was arrested and transported to the Detention Center.

Edwards was transported to the Jefferson Regional Medical Center Emergency Room where he was pronounced dead.
