LITTLE ROCK, Ark - Not even a nearly record-breaking hot day could prevent the excitement around the show and entertainment behind the outdoor event on the 4th block of Main Street in downtown Little Rock at the Big Night.

Little Rock’s very own native and TV news personality, Keristen Holmes, returned home to host Big Night, presenting returning designers and new designers as they showcased their clothing lines while models strutted in the designer’s collection on the runway at the seventh annual Little Rock Fashion Week (LRFW).

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - United States Ambassador Dr. Edward J. Perkins will visit the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) Thursday, August 6. Ambassador Perkins will speak during an assembly at 6:15 p.m. in the J.M Ross theatre of the Hathaway-Howard Fine Arts building. The event is free and open to the public.

Ambassador Perkins served as the Clinton Administration’s representative to the Commonwealth of Australia from November 24, 1993 until August 1996. Previous appointments include Ambassador to the United Nations in 1992, Ambassador to Liberia in 1985, and Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa where he served from 1986-89.

Jefferson Co. jail detainees riot resulting in thousands in property damage

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) – According the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the Special Response Team (SRT) responded after inmates at the Jefferson County Jail rioted causing several thousand dollars in damage on Wednesday night.

According to Major Lafayette Woods, Jr., over 80 detainees rioted after jail security staff tightened security and restricted privileges for the inmates.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KTHV) - The suspect behind the murder of Kevin Lampkin was taken into custody Friday. 

Lampkin was found dead in a Mercury Grand Marquis on Saturday, July 25. The death was recorded as the sixth homicide in Pine Bluff for 2015. 

Pine Bluff man found dead in car identified

Jermaine Markist Bailey, 22, was declared the prime suspect Wednesday morning, and his information was sent out to every law enforcement agency in Arkansas. Shortly after, Bailey was arrested for the murder during a traffic stop in Little Rock.

Holmes to return home for Little Rock Fashion Week

Little Rock, Ark. – Since 2009 Brandon D. Campbell has been producing Little Rock Fashion Week (LRFW), and this year will be unlike any other experience.

July 13-July 18 will be a week filled with memorable fashion moments. On July 18, LRFW will hold its BIG Night exclusive fashion event on the fourth block of Main Street in downtown Little Rock. It will mark the return of Little Rock’s very own TV news personality Keristen Holmes as the show host.

“I couldn’t be more excited to go back home to host LRFW Big Night”, says Holmes. Holmes, a local southern news anchor, is how one would describe her, “I’m just a girl from Pike who made it.”

Holmes is a North Little Rock native. Holmes states, “As a high school student, I was involved in every activity from cheerleading to competitive speech.” At North Little Rock High she was her own renaissance woman in the making.

UAPB is now accepting nursing program applicants

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (July 9, 2015) – Enrollment is now open for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year of Pre-Licensure (Generic) Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Prospective students who have completed the required prerequisite general education courses are now able to submit applications.

Students who are admitted to the pre-licensure program and successfully complete all required coursework and program requirements will be eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Students who pass the NCLEX-RN will be licensed to practice as a registered nurse.

CADC accepting applications for summer LIHEAP program

BENTON, Ark. (CADC) - Central Arkansas Development Council is currently accepting applications for the summer regular Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) utility assistance with mass intake days that begin July 6, 2015.
