Children's Advocacy Center hosts golf tournament

Teams are now forming for the very first Children’s Advocacy Center golf tournament, which will take place on Friday, April 12 at Harbor Oaks Golf Course in Pine Bluff. The four-person scramble will begin at 1:00 p.m., and the $300 entry fee will also include lunch and prizes.

The mission of the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Pine Bluff is to reduce the trauma to abused children during the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases. “Nearly 70% of all reported sexual assaults are on children 17 and under,“ explains executive Director Christa Menotti. “Prosecutors, law enforcement, medical support staff, counselors and co-workers come together in our child-friendly location to interview the victims and non-offending family members.”  Funded almost entirely by grants, the golf tournament is the CAC’s first major fundraiser in Pine Bluff.
