Scruggs to model at New Orleans Fashion Week.

Larry Scruggs, former Little Rock Fashion Week (LRFW) Model of the Year, has been selected as a VIP model at New Orleans Fashion Week. Scruggs, of Pine Bluff, Ark., will hit the runway Thursday, October 18th at 9:30 pm wearing The Dope. Game lifestyle clothing line inspired by 90s hip-hop.

“I’m excited and truly honored to be part of New Orleans Fashion Week,” says Scruggs. “It’s a blessing as well as an opportunity for me to represent myself, Oneofakind Talent agency, and the great state of Arkansas. I’m so ready for this.”

Scruggs made his fashion debut as a first time model at LRFW 2010. Since then, he has been in several fashion shows, including Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Bridal Runway Show and print ads, most noticeable Levi’s and LRG featured in Dillard’s fall season catalogue that was distributed at Dillard’s department stores nationwide.

AETN's 'Clean Lines, Open Spaces' wins three Emmys

CONWAY, Ark. (AETN) — “Clean Lines, Open Spaces: A View of Mid-Century Modern Architecture,” a production of the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN), received three Emmys in the 2012 annual awards competition of the Mid-America Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).

“There is no greater sense of satisfaction than being recognized by one’s talented peers in this industry, especially those who vote in the regional Emmy Awards competition,” AETN Director of Production Carole Adornetto said.

“Clean Lines, Open Spaces,” a documentary by AETN Senior Producer Mark Wilcken, explores mid-century modern architecture through a regional lens of the American south. The film details how international influences helped shape the built environment of Arkansas after World War II.

The one-hour film was recognized with an award for Best Cultural Documentary, and Wilcken received individual awards for Best Writing and Best Editing.

Little Rock Fashion Week (LRFW) is proud to announce that the Kelvin Haydon fashion label by Kelvin Haydon has been selected as the LRFW 2012 Clothing Line of the Year and fashion model Hannah Daniel has been selected as LRFW 2012 Model of the Year.

Kelvin Haydon, the women and men’s line owned by Haydon, of Milwaukee, Wis., was selected as the 2012 Clothing Line of the Year after an eye popping presentation during LRFW's Posh Expression Fashion Experience, July 21st.

“I’m just speechless and overwhelmed. I genuinely didn’t think that I was going to win,” says Haydon. "It's so amazing and exciting for me to be announced as LRFW 2012 clothing line of the year winner. This is such an emotional and outer body experience for me.”

Campbell to co-produce Arkansas Bridal Fashion Show

Brandon D. Campbell, Little Rock Fashion Week's founder and executive producer, is the co-produce for the runway fashion show at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette 2012 Bridal Show on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock. The bridal show is from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The runway fashion show is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

The fashion show will star the high fashion runway models, of all ages and sizes, from Oneofakind Talent Inc. modeling agency and past Little Rock Fashion Week presentations. LRFW's 2012 and 2011 Models of the Year Hannah Daniel, of Mabelvale, Ark and Larry Scruggs, of Pine Bluff, Ark are headlining the talented group. Models will wear clothes from Al's Formal, David's Bridal, Dillard's Park Plaza Mall, First Impressions, Jos A. Bank, Men's Warehouse and The Bridal Cottage.

Best-selling author, Pine Bluff native tells Tales From the South

National best-selling author Laura Parker Castoro will be the featured storyteller for a very special Tales from the South Tin Roof Project on Tuesday evening, August 7, 2012. The live taping of the radio series will be at Starving Artist Café in the Argenta Arts District, Downtown North Little Rock. Live music by The Salty Dogs and bluesman Mark Simpson. Doors open at 5:00pm, dinner and drinks are served 5:00pm-6:30pm and the show starts at 7pm.

With 39 books published in the U.S., Castoro's work has also been published in 15 foreign languages, including among others German, French, Italian, Russian, Icelandic, Hungarian, Chinese and Japanese. She began her career writing historical and contemporary romance.

UAPB students visit Paris during weeklong fashion tour

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Five students studying fashion merchandising, textiles and design at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff recently spent a week in Paris, France. The students went on fashion-oriented tours, spoke with designers and visited some of the city’s well-known landmarks.

Brittany Alexander, Elaina Buckner, Melina Lewis, Victoria Means and Jasmine Tucker completed a short-term study abroad tour with EF College Study Tours. The focus of the tour was “Fashion in Paris.”

The tour helped broaden the experience of students in the Merchandising, Textiles and Design program, said UAPB instructor Kalari Turner, who coordinated the tour and accompanied the students as group leader.
